Iphone6 Plus read mykad using kad reader

Today I saw 1 of my friend's show me a "IN" thing, he is using his brand new iphone6 Plus (first time ever also i saw the real iphone 6 plus after it launch in Malaysia, i am a cheap android guy:P ) to read the Malaysia IC - mykad , the screen is good and clear ( of course la iphone ma) ,the iphone itself don't have reader, so my friend plug in an additional reader to his iphone, and read use the app, well, good to know this :), it is so convenient nowsaday ; we tested can read new and old mykad.

More and more Cash register in the market come with mykad reader

Nowsaday when i go to buy stuff in the retail store, those cash register with cashier operating will have the mykad reader, to enter the member data, then issue us an member card or gift card for reward. This is good for encourage buyer come back again to buy again. This mykad reader i found it is good to make the efficiency, can prevent long queue in front of the counter. opps am i wrong for the cash register is different with the Point of sale system(POS)? sorry, i am not the technical guy, i check on the internet for the Point of sale system is like PC but the cash register with small LCD and the keyboard only. Correction add on: Mykad reader is the device with cable link to PC or machine, it can collect the data from mykad then pass to the PC, laptop or any machine(i assuming).

This news really shock me!

This happen to a security guard who suppose is the trust person, but then the "trust" causing the bank officer was shot in the head at "close range" by a security guard at 6.20pm on Oct 23 at USJ Sentral, Subang Jaya. that time the bank officer bring the security guard to bank's vault. The security guard with fake mykad then fled with RM450,000 from the bank’s vault.

This all because of the "lust" (nafsu)i will said. Pity to that officer and families :(

Non malaysian (not mykad holder) nothing wrong actually, the problem is if the person with the fake identity card / fake mykad, then if that is anything happen, then that is no way to track the people, who he is, what his actual name, what is the nationality, what his last address, we don't know who he is actually, he just like "invisible man", people with no identity...

MyKad: The Malaysia Government Multipurpose Smart Identity Card

MyKad, or Government Multipurpose Card (GMPC) is the official compulsory identity card of Malaysia. MyKad is considered as world’s first smart identity card. The MyKad or GMPC project is part of the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) initiative. MyKad was officially launched on September 5, 2001 and incorporates a microchip, which contains several items of data including biometrics. From March 2003, a variant of this identity card for newborn babies was introduced, known as MyKid.
The word “My” in “MyKad” signifies Malaysia’s top level domain country code .my and also indicating personal ownership of the card. The word “Kad” is the acronym of “Kad Akuan Diri” or translated as “Personal Identification Card” as well as “Kad Aplikasi Digital” (Digital Application Card) and also means “card”.
Malaysian Citizens owns blue coloured MyKad. Permanent Residents owns red coloured MyKad.
Eligibility for MyKad
All Malaysian citizens and permanent residents 12 years old or above are eligible for a MyKad. All newborn babies are issued with a MyKid. This is “upgraded” to a MyKad on the 12th birthday. The MyKad must be replaced when a person reaches 18 years old, as it is a requirement that the photograph be ‘current’. MyKad must be carried at all times. Failure to do so may incur a fine of between RM3,000 and RM20,000 or jail term of up to three years.
Functions of MyKad
The MyKad is a piece of plastic with an embedded microchip and has the dimensions of a standard credit card. MyKad contains a 64Kb EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory) chip running on the M-COS (MyKad Chip Operating System) operating system.
Functions available in MyKad are:

• Identity card, including fingerprints and photo
• Driving licence information
• Passport in Malaysia
• Storage for health information
• e-cash
• ATM integration
• Touch ‘n Go, Malaysia’s toll road tolling system and also public transport payment system
• Digital certificate, commonly known as Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
